The refinishing process can be done in two to four hours for most jobs. Once the refinishing process is complete, the fixture can be used in forty-eight hours. We use the finest products for our refinishing process.
We can repair rust in your porcelain fixtures and also repair cracks in fiberglass fixtures. We have a ventilation system available for your comfort. When refinishing tile fixtures, this seals off the grout line and makes the cleaning much easier with no more mold or mildew.
When refinishing a fixture, we must remove the caulking from around the edge of the fixture. We then remove the overflow if possible, sand the item and clean it with a non-acid cleaner. Following this, we repair any chips, scratches, rust or gouges. Next, we tape and paper the item, put drop cloths over other items in the room and spray the item to be refinished.
Southern Refinishing at 708 Barataria at 4th Street in Marrero is into its third generation, with a showroom of claw-footed tubs and pedestal sinks and a refinishing and reglazing service for tubs and sinks. Missy and Les Dickerson are currently offering a special on reglazing the inside of claw-foot tubs from $200, in white. “We can also do almost any color nowadays,” says Missy. “And we pick up and deliver the tubs.” Southern Refinishing can also refinish and glaze sinks, counters and splashes, and specializes in the kinds of antique tubs they refurbish in the shop. Redone, vintage claw-foots in the showroom are priced from $950. Hardware and refitting are also offered.
